Dive into the heart of the new 2016 Roche bobois collection

Roche Bobois

Different universes with strong concepts make their entry into the Roche Bobois collection for this year 2016. Submarine, forest or classical atmospheres thus make their entrance alongside a capsule collection created by Maison Christian Lacroix, especially for Roche Bobois.

The 2016 Roche Bobois collection is full of surprises! Designer furniture with aquatic, natural and metallic atmospheres blends with revisited classics, as well as the haute couture fashion world of Maison Christian Lacroix. The new collection Roche bobois 2016 is drawn between colors, shapes and materials, always with finishes and exemplary details.

A haute couture collaboration between Maison Christian Lacroix and Roche Bobois

Roche bobois had already used fabrics from the Maison Christian Lacroix, but no real collaboration had yet taken place. So, for this first, Roche bobois sees big: carte blanche for Maison Christian Lacroix, with an entire collection made in just two months. There is obviously the trademark of the House Christian Lacroix. To dress these brass and precious wood furniture, the brand chose fabrics such as silk or velvet. All for a very sophisticated visual rendering.

On the other side of the object, a new visual was drawn this year. Sacha Walckhoff, creative director of the Maison Christian Lacroix, explains: "we mix elements of the 18th, 50's and contemporary years, to show that we draw on the past, we also take care of present, to prepare the future ".

Bobois rock takes a dip at the bottom of the ocean

Through the rounded curves of the furniture and accessories, one can discover the world of the seabed, explored and imagined by Roche Bobois. Between the Trilogie poufs, with imitation net mesh fabric, the Wishbone armchair, in string assembly, or the Odéa sofa, in the shape of a shell, we are immediately immersed in the aquatic depths.

The classic Roche Bobois revisited and sublimated

Between the designer Bina Baitel, the graffiti artist Swiz or the designer Lili Castilla, the codes are broken and the offbeat takes over. The furniture of the Haussmanian architecture has thus been unstructured. Bina Baitel played on the molding, to propose a contemporary version of this furniture. Side shifted, there is still the Illusion sofa designed by Lili Castilla, the structure totally asymmetrical, or the library Pixl, Fabrice Berrux, games mirrors and various depths.

Artistic notes are added to the 2016 collection, with the collaboration of the graffiti artist Swiz. Roche Bobois is reinventing itself in a version much more street art, with low tables Gribouille, which resume the drawing with a stroke of pencil. The graffiti artist also placed his paw on graphic fabrics in shades of orange.

Nature invites itself and settles at Roche Bobois

Wood is obviously the central element of this part of the collection, especially for the Saga collection by designer Christophe Delcourt. Here, the massive oak is put forward, with its knots and other small defects of origin, which show the growth of the tree. The side of the buffet even reveals the cut of a trunk tinged black. Natural furniture that brings an extra touch of life.

Nature side, flora is also at the rendezvous. The suspensions and floor lamps Flou, signed Sophie Larger, have a structure imitating to perfection the lightness and the beauty of an exotic flower. Through these accessories, it is nature, the exterior in a general way, which invites itself into our interiors.

Metal is an obvious part of Roche Bobois furniture

In all its varied and varied forms, metal is combined with a large number of materials and materials. This is the new playground for designers. Whether you find it discreetly or worked, matte or shiny, the metal is part of contemporary decoration.

The Hybrid furniture by Meike Harde, one of the three winning projects of the Roche Bobois Design Award 2015, uses metal in a noble and chic way. The designer played on the transparency of the material to offer a design and sleek furniture. Made of folded steel mesh and by hand, this piece of furniture is produced in a limited edition of 20 pieces.

Roche bobois reinvents the design of the 70's

Rounded shapes and pep colors come to pimp furniture Roche bobois for this new collection 2016. Not to be missed: this is the modular pouf Macaron, Stefan Heiliger. Thanks to its sculpted disc in the seat, this seat is transformed into both chaise longue and armchair. This furniture, as playful as aesthetic, is especially practical for its diversity of possibilities.
